Valuable
Karaoke Resources on the Internet
Editorial
by Barb Tomlin
While I have devoted
a page to lyric
resources on the Internet, there are other karaoke
pages I've found to be of value in my entertainment
adventures. If you would like to contribute a link
or two to our list, please feel free to email your
link to me at any time.
*These
are the two resources we order from most often.
Lyrics
I have dedicated an entire page to lyric resources
on the Internet. Please follow this link to see
them.
Karaoke
Scene Magazine
This
is a newsprint magazine dedicated to karaoke enthusiasts.
It is an alternative bi-monthly publication with
limited free distribution in the Southern California
area. Subscriptions run $45 for two years. This
link will take you to the online version where
you will find all kinds of valuable resources
and information, including the history
of karaoke, a song search engine, a discussion
forum and a karaoke club directory.
Singer
Magazine
This
publication was formerly dedicated to resources
and features of interest strictly to karaoke singers.
In fall 2001 its focus expanded to all singers
and the name was changed from KaraokeSinger to
Singer Magazine. Currently the publisher is featuring
one teaser article archived on the new website,
primarily designed to solicit subscriptions (ie.
very little "meat" can be found). We
recommend subscribing to the magazine.
EatSleepMusic.Com
A destination site packed with all kinds of karaoke
information and resources, including karaoke party
tips and much more! Its sister site, AudioDreams.com
features downloadable MP3 files.
Karaoke
at FreewareFiles.Com
The Karaoke page features
links to players and streaming karaoke that you
enjoy while you are online!
If you are a computer
geek, you might enjoy creating your own karaoke
CDGs. If you are an entrepreneurial musician,
you can turn your talent into publishing karaoke
CDGs for a living. We have found one resource
offering a great deal of valuable insight in
addition to the software and hardware necessary
to accomplish the task. The name of the company
is Microstudio.
We encourage you to browse their Karaoke
Basics page often and if you are interested
in the professional aspects of recording karaoke
CDGs, visit
this page.
