Club Manager

 

Welcome to the locker of John "JR" Robinson, volunteer manager of our Sunset Club, better known to Club Regulars as Bodyguard. A singer/songwriter, poet, dreamer, and cynic, JR is often found wandering the boundaries of cyberspace in search of the unusual and different.

Never wanting to be a "star", he enjoys singing for the joy of expression, and when not online, he can be sometimes be found singing at local clubs in his hometown. Though he studied Opera (many years ago), he actually prefers ballads, and while his voice is excellent, his real talent is to feel the words he is singing, and conveying those feelings to the audience.

He considers himself very "Eastern" in his philosophies, and as such, shows a "samurai" type loyalty to those he considers his friends. (hence the nickname Bodyguard). When he met Poker Alice in the summer of 1992, he found someone willing to show him how to focus his different talents, for which he is exceedingly grateful.

Bodyguard also happens to be the guy who wrote the Westward Connections Theme Lyrics. Be careful. You may even stumble on to him singing the song here in the Sunset Club.
